Darn. After seeing all of the incredible entries for the Pin Up Challenge on Art Order, I wish I'd come up with something more along the lines of this two weeks ago. Oh well... (forgot to mention on yesterday's post: traditional technique, watercolor, gouache, very slight digital tweaking.)

So I wanted to stay true to D&D, the pose is the pin up style, I guess. I wanted the pastell colors of the background to add a little bit of vintage feeling. On The Drawing Board

Working on this right now: Sword of the Goblin Queen. It's not a scan, so it's a tad warped.

"Märchenzeit" Part 1 - Sketch and Sepia Tonework

So, here's my first process post. This is a slightly different style for me, thought it would be great for the children's book publishers at the Frankfurt Book Fair, sadly it wasn't finished in time. Now it's going to be my christmas card for this year. Next post: the finished piece!

Finally, First Post...

Wow. I finally have something to post. These three images were created as fictional covers for young adult books. I'm going to use them as handouts at the Frankfurt Book Fair next week. Technique: watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, mixed, digital.
